The Center combines legal expertise with technical expertise and economic expertise for a comprehensive ADR solution. An attorney mediator or arbitrator works with one of the largest independent information technology laboratories in the U.S. and a damages and valuation expert. This combination provides an environment for effective resolution of disputes relating to our core area of interest: software, computers, information technology, the Internet, and e-commerce. We have a very specialized focus – resolution of contract, intellectual property, antitrust and other legal disputes relating to this core.

The InfoTech Dispute Resolution Center is located on the second floor of the Canopy Data Center Building shown above. The building is a “state of the art” data center built by the Canopy Group (a nationally known venture capital firm) and dedicated by the Governor of Utah in November 2000. It is located in a technology park south of Salt Lake City .

1. Legal Expertise. An experienced attorney acts as mediator or arbitrator to conduct mediation, neutral assessment or arbitration of the dispute.

2. Technical Expertise. Information technology laboratory and technical experts available for neutral evaluation and testing of software, networks, hardware, websites, and other information technology assets relevant to the dispute.

Facilities

The Infotech Dispute Resolution Center provides facilities to host mediations, arbitrations and settlement conferences (see Facilities - Proceedings) and to conduct testing and evaluations of software, networks, e-commerce, and other information technology assets (see Facilities - IT Testing Lab).
